Why I love the Flea Market

Ever wondered why it's called a flea market? So have I. But I never found out why. According to the almighty Wikipedia, its origins are unknown, but some speculate it's because people are moving about like fleas, or the more likely explanation, the shoppers and merchandise are all infested. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Flea_market

Random: Apparently this tv ad for the Montgomery Flea Market was so popular it made it on the Ellen Show.

Anyway, I wanted to talk about the great finds I picked up today. I went on my weekly Daddy-daughter date with Karen, and she brought her money to buy a toy car from Cars Movie (they're crazy about it and have tonnes of them). She got a combo Lightning McQueen / Sally for $5, marked down from $9. Awesome. I buy razors there, because they are ridiculously cheap. Mach 3 blades are usually a rip off, and I get a pack of 8 for $10. Can't beat that. But why I really love it is because of the records you can find. Today I discovered a $1 section (or 6 for $5). Expecting it to be all garbage, I started flipping through. I was very surprised to have walked away with the following albums/singles for $13:

Bobby McFerrin-Spontaneous Inventions (Thinkin' about your body, Another night in Tunisia with the Manhattan Transfer)
Manhattan Transfer-Mecca for Moderns (already have about 4 of theirs)
INXS-Kick
Diana Ross-Lady Sings the Blues OMPST
Peter Gabriel-Plays Live (the one with the really weird makeup)
The B-52s-Love Shack single (yessssss!)
Saturday Night Fever OMPST (already have it, got this for @ErinSolange)
Blue Oyster Cult-Agents of Fortune (yes, the cowbell song)
We are the World (you know the one)
Phil Collins-No Jacket Required
James Brown-Froggy remixes
Black Box-Everybody Everybody (come on, I grew up in the 90s)
Milli Vanilli-Girl you know it's true Single (ok, I shouldn't have posted that)
Staying Alive-OMPST (a lot of Bee Gees, I know)
Alan Parsons Project-Eve (I liked one of his other albums, and he produced the Dark Side of the Moon)

Anyway, I highly recommend taking your children on dates, and if you want them to be cheap, go here!

Hi, I just wanted to say thanks to iRentCanada.ca. Yesterday I was practically pulling my hair out searching through dozens of newspapers, and several online rental property website before I came across www.iRentCanada.ca. I have never seen such a great site, and so easy to use. iRentCanada has so many awesome ways to search for rental properties. Within seconds I found my new place. Their Ad detail page is so detailed, that just by reading the description, seeing the apartments on the map, and seeing usually more then 15 large photos, there was no need to run around town seeing hundreds of apartments for rent in Toronto. And you can feel confident that if it's for rent it's on iRentCanada. Long story short, thank you iRentCanada. In total it took me 5 minutes to search, find what I was looking for and even contact the landlord. A truly amazing site.
